1. Acceptance of these terms
These terms govern your use of SumDesk and its tools (the "service"). By using the service, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, use the service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
2. The service
SumDesk provides free, browser-based utility tools. Inputs are processed on your device. We aim to keep the tools available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, or that a particular tool will remain available indefinitely. Features may change, and planned features described elsewhere are not offered until they are actually launched.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the service for personal or commercial work. You may not:
- Use the service to break the law, infringe someone else's rights, or process content you do not have permission to use.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload or bypass security controls of the site or its providers.
- Click advertising or use automated means to generate ad impressions, queries or invalid traffic. Ad fraud can cause an entire site to be removed from advertising programs.
- Scrape or automate the site at a volume that degrades service for others, except where a separate written agreement allows it.
- Present a tool, its output, or the site in a misleading way, including by removing notices that a result is estimated or does not verify security.
4. Outputs, verification and warranty
You are responsible for checking outputs before relying on them. Hashes, UUIDs, color values, converted units, percentages, compressed images, QR codes and decoded tokens are provided as utilities, not as professional advice. In particular:
- The JWT decoder does not verify token signatures. Never treat a decoded token as authentic on its own.
- The password generator produces random values locally, but the site does not store or manage them. Use a reputable password manager.
- Image compression and conversion may change quality, metadata or transparency. Keep an original.
- Test QR codes at their final size and on more than one device before printing or publishing them.
- Color contrast figures follow the WCAG formula but do not guarantee a design is accessible in every context.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
5. Site content and intellectual property
The site's design, text and original code are owned by the site operator or used under licence. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the site for its intended purpose; you do not acquire ownership of it. Third-party components, such as the open-source QR library and fonts, remain subject to their own licences.
You retain whatever rights you have in content you process using the tools. We claim no ownership of tool inputs or outputs. Because processing happens locally, we do not have a copy of either.
6. Advertising and third-party services
Advertising displayed on the site is provided by third parties, including Google AdSense. Ads may link to third-party websites and services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Interactions with advertisers are between you and them. See the advertising section of the privacy policy for cookie and consent information.
7. Paid features
SumDesk is currently free to use and does not collect payments. If paid features are ever introduced, their price, scope and terms will be shown clearly before any purchase, and these terms will be updated.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill or business opportunities, arising out of or relating to the service — even if advised that such damages were possible. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those places, the exclusions and limitations apply only to the extent legally permitted.
9. Changes to the service and terms
We may modify the service or these terms. Updated terms take effect when posted on this page, and the date at the top will change. If you continue using the site after an update, you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree, stop using the site.
These terms are governed by the laws that apply at the operator's principal place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms deprives you of mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
