About this tool
Why it exists.
A QR code stores your content in the pattern itself. Unlike subscription QR services that point at a redirect they control, these codes do not expire, do not collect scan analytics and do not stop working if a company shuts down.
Enter a URL or any text, pick an error-correction level, and adjust size and colors. Higher error correction survives damage and awkward lighting but packs more modules into the same area. Test the code on a real phone at the intended print size before you commit it to paper.
How to use it.
- Paste a URL or type any text.
- Set the size, colors and error-correction level.
- Download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print.
Good questions.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The content is encoded directly into the pattern, so there is no redirect or account that can expire. If the destination URL later stops working, the code still scans; it just leads to a dead link.
Which error-correction level should I choose?
Medium (M) is a good default. Use Quartile (Q) or High (H) for printed material that may scuff or be viewed at an angle. Higher levels make the pattern denser, so keep the printed size generous.
Can I use a logo in the middle?
You can, but this generator does not add one. A logo covers modules and reduces reliability. If you overlay one, keep it under roughly 20% of the width, use High error correction and test the final image on several phones.
