About this tool
Why it exists.
Profile pictures, thumbnails, banners and product photos all need specific sizes or shapes. Resizing alone squeezes an image out of shape, so the right approach is to crop to the correct shape first and then resize.
Choose a crop shape or type the exact width and height you need, and move the sliders to decide which part of the picture stays. The preview shows the result and its file size, and the image is saved in the format you pick. Nothing leaves your device.
How to use it.
- Add an image.
- Pick a crop shape or exact size and position the crop.
- Choose the format and download the result.
Good questions.
Will the image be stretched?
No. In exact-size mode the picture is first cropped to the shape of your width and height, then resized, so proportions are kept.
Can I make an image bigger?
You can, but enlarging cannot add detail, so the result looks softer. Resize down whenever possible.
How do I choose which part is kept?
Use the left-right and top-bottom sliders. The preview updates as you move them.
